Privacy policy

This is a translation of our Dutch privacy policy. If the two differ, the Dutch version applies.

Inspiration Cloud writes social media posts for self-employed people and small businesses. To do that, we read your website, your brand and your photos. This policy explains which data that is, why we need it, who we share it with and what you can do yourself.

Who we are

Inspiration Cloud is a service of Egen BV (company number BE 0872.344.259). The platform is built and run by Broes Consulting BV, Stationsstraat 140 bus A, 8340 Damme, company number BE 0761.614.207. Broes Consulting BV is responsible for processing your data (the data controller). Send privacy questions to arnaud@broes.consulting.

What data we process

The free scan. You give us a website address. We read the public pages of that site: the text, the photos and the contact details on it. From that we make a profile, a plan and a sample post. We keep the result for 30 days. Anyone with the link to the result can view it.

Your account. Your name, your email address, your password (only as an unreadable hash), the name of your business and your website. If you invite colleagues, we also keep their name and email address.

Your brand. What you tell us or what we take from your site: what you do and sell, for whom, where, how you sound, facts about your business and customer quotes that are on your site.

Your photos and videos. What you upload to Media. We have an AI service describe what is on them, so we can pick a fitting photo for each post. That description says whether people are in the photo, but not who they are. We do not recognise faces.

WhatsApp. You can send photos and ideas to our WhatsApp number. If you link your number to your business, we keep your phone number, your WhatsApp name and the name your business gives you. What you send is kept with your business: photos and videos go to Media, texts become ideas if you confirm that. Other messages, such as a short "ok" or a voice message, we do not keep. If a number that is not linked sends us a message, we reply at most once an hour and keep nothing it sends.

Your connections. If you connect Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Pinterest, we keep the access you give us there (encrypted), the name of your page or account, your recent posts (to learn your style) and, if you give us that access, figures about the reach of your posts.

What we make for you. Your plan, your ideas, the posts and articles we write, and what you do with them: approve, edit, schedule or leave out.

Technical data. Your IP address and browser, briefly, to prevent abuse and find errors.

Why, and on what legal basis

• To deliver the service you ask for: your account, your brand, your posts and publishing them. This is necessary for our contract with you.
• To run the free scan you request yourself, and to keep the service safe and improve it. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest.
• To publish on your channels and learn from them. We only do this after you connect a channel yourself. You can always disconnect it again.
• To email you about your account and your posts, such as a confirmation, a new password or your weekly overview.

We do not sell your data, we show no ads and we do not use your data for anything other than Inspiration Cloud.

AI

We write and review with AI models from OpenAI, and make images with Google (Gemini). For that we send them the data they need: your brand, the text of your site, your photos and what we want to make with them. We use their business services. Under their terms, they do not use that data to train their models. Nothing is published without you seeing and approving it first.

Who we share data with

Only with services we need to make Inspiration Cloud work, and only what they need:

What you publish on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Pinterest is then also covered by that platform's privacy policy.

Some of these services process data outside the European Union, mainly in the United States. This only happens with the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep data

• A free scan: 30 days.
• Your account and everything that belongs to it: as long as your account exists.
• If you delete your business, we remove everything: your brand, your posts, your photos and your connections. It disappears from our backups within 30 days.
• WhatsApp: your number stays linked until you or your business unlinks it. What you sent stays in Media and Ideas until you delete it there. We erase technical data about the messages after a week.
• Technical data: a few weeks at most.

Cookies

We only use cookies needed to make the service work: one to keep you logged in (30 days) and one that exists briefly while you connect a channel. We use no cookies for statistics or ads, and no third-party cookies.

Other people's data

If you upload photos showing people, or publish customer quotes, make sure those people agree. Inspiration Cloud asks whether that is fine for a photo with recognisable people, but the choice is yours.

Your rights

You may view your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, take it to another service, and object to or restrict a processing. You can do much of that yourself:

• View and take along: in the app under Instellingen (Settings), Je zaak (Your business), Je gegevens (Your data), with Alles downloaden (Download everything). You get everything in one file.
• Correct: in Merkbrein (Brand brain) you can change everything about your business.
• Delete: under Instellingen, Je zaak, Je gegevens, by typing the name of your business followed by "verwijderen" (delete).
• Unlink WhatsApp: under Instellingen, WhatsApp, Wie stuurt er foto's? (Who sends photos?), with the cross next to the number. After that we keep nothing that number sends.

For anything else, email us at arnaud@broes.consulting. We reply within a month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels (dataprotectionauthority.be).

Deleting data from Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest

Do you want us to keep nothing more from your Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest?

• Disconnect the channel in the app, under Instellingen, Koppelingen (Connections). We then delete the access you gave us.
• Also remove Inspiration Cloud in Facebook, under Settings & privacy, Settings, Apps and websites.
• For Pinterest, remove Inspiration Cloud in your Pinterest settings, among the apps that have access.
• If you also want the posts and data we already read from your page gone, delete your business in the app, or email us. We delete them within 30 days.

Security

Everything goes over an encrypted connection. We store the access to your channels encrypted, and your password only as an unreadable hash. Each business sees only its own data.

Changes

If we change this policy in an important way, we let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect. The top of this page always shows when it last changed.
